I have an aged VAIO PCV-RS322E that was purchased in 2003. I am very happy with the reliability of the desktop PC, but the performance has just got worse and worse.
The PC is running Windows XP Home Edition with Microsoft Office 2003, Outlook, IE7 and Kaspersky. It has Pentium 4 2.6ghz processor, 512mb RAM and a 100GB hard disc. I have not upgraded the PC since new and use it mainly for email and internet browsing.
Can anyone suggest anything that will speed up the performance, or should I just scrap it and buy a new PC? I have a Dell laptop that is 4 years old, but I prefer the Sony.
