Power Supply for notebook

Just wondering if anyone else is having problems with thier power supply ? The input jack seems to sit very loosley in the socket and on occation when I go to move the laptop it will fall out, cutting off the supply. If anyone has had this problem have you found a solution. cheers.

There is a spring connector on the outside of the socket. I 'adjusted' one of mine with a bent paper clip to provide a little more pressure on the plug. If you do it, be careful though as you could possibly damage it.

If you're in your warranty period have it fixed.

Good point - unless they class it as fair wear & tear.

You would expect this part of a laptop to be able to stand a great deal of wear and tear!

It is pretty esential to the functioning of it!

But then again, who knows as far as Sony are concerned! :slight_frown:

Must admit that if mine had still been under warranty then I'd have argued until they agreed that it was a design fault with the computer

I would tell them it's got nothing to do with wear and tear and it needs replacing asap.

Thanks for the advice all. It still keeps falling out but now I just keep the battery in just in case.
