Prevent shutdown/sleep when shutting screen lid

Hi All!

Does anyone know how to prevent the laptop from shutting down when closing the screen lid? My boss has an "old" model VGN-TZ31XNB with Vista busuness as the OS. (She also has a very affectionate cat who likes to sleep on the VAIO screen lid while she works) I have only found settings of what to do when one opens the lid, not when one shuts it. We have managed to do this previously, but have forgotten how.

Help, anyone?

Hi Errol,

With Vista you can change the settings for all power plans or for just one.

Change the setting to "Do Nothing".

Have a look here - it gives the procedure for whichever one you choose: -
