Problem with the 'Fn' button...

Within the last week, my Vaio K215S has suddenly stopped letting me alter the volume and brightness controls?! You know, when you hold down the 'Fn' button and press F3 etc etc. It lets me put the Vaio into Standby mode, by pressing 'Fn' and F12, but not the brightness of volume? Any ideas why?? The F keys work generally.

Hi Damien,

I am not entirely certain on this as other hotkeys seen to be working, but it could be a problem with the Sony Utilities.

You could try downloading the pre-installed utilities, for your model, from Vaio-Link and reinstalling Sony Utils, Sony Shared Library and the Hotkey utility, then reboot.

If Richs solution doesn't work and it is likely it will try a system restore to a time before the Fn keys stopped working
