Problems with Intervideo WinDVD for VAIO

Hi All,

I am having the problem with WINDVD for VAIO where it wont start.

I thought I would try a re-install, but it does not appear on the Recovery Applications list.

Is there any reason why it does not appear - it is obviously one of the original pieces of software.

Is there anywhere it can be downloaded ?

Hi Jedd,

Beacause of licensing agreements with InterVideo, WinDVD cannot be installed or reinstalled as an individual program. It can only be part of the Sony OEM software suite.

The only way to reinstall WinDVD is to reinstall the entire operating system using the Recovery Centre (was Vaio Recovery Utility).

I must say I am not surprised, Intervideo have always been paranoid about their licensing.

Oh well, I'm not going to do a full system restore just to get what is at best an OK piece of software back.
