Quick Web Access

Hi. I have a Vaio VPCEB2M0E laptop. Pressing the WEB button for Quick Web Access launches the Splashtop Browser but it doesn't connect to my wifi network. I have tried to get it to connect by ticking 'Enable wifi' in the network connections dialogue box. It does a search for available connections but doesn't find any. I think it is an old version of Splashtop so it may just need upgrading. Can anyone help resolve this long-standing problem please/

Hi ridiroka,

Shot in the dark here but have you tried experimenting with different channel numbers on the router?

Also there is an update available on the support site (DVM Quick Web Access - 1.3.1.7). Maybe worth trying unless you are already running that version.

Hi Rich

I have now managed to resolve the main issue of not being able to connect
to my network/internet via wifi to my router. I tried connecting a LAN
cable direct to the router and got instant network/internet access. This
somehow allowed Splashtop to come up with a means to manually insert the
wifi address etc and now the wifi connects ok.

However, I'm not sure that I have the latest version of Splashtop as it
doesn't work very well with some websites.
My current version of Splashtop browser is 0.2.270.62534 (3.0.10) and the
Splashtop OS is 1.4.7.0 Copyright 2007-2011.

Is there a later version I can or should download of the browser or OS, and
if so, how do I go about doing this. Should I do it via Splashtop or
Windows 7 browser?

Regards

Hi Ridiroka,

I'm pleased to hear that you have made progress.

I have searched, as I'm sure you have, with no luck in finding a more recent version. If you eventually find an updated version it will need to be installed via the Windows 7 OS.
