Recovery Disc Failure

Hi There,

I just bought a sony vaio S5M, made the 2 recovery dvd's. Now I did tried to recover my vaio. Somehow the recovery program forgot to write the HAL.DLL!! And now I'm shacked, can't use my vaio cause my system recovery disc is missing some fill.
Who knows where I can download the system recovery disc? So I can start using my vaio again.

thnx for reading

Tim

Try find hal.dll or hal.dl_ from other windows installation.
In my system (Windows XP Pro) are:

Directory di C:\WINDOWS\system32
29/09/2005 01.35 134.272 hal.dll

Directory di C:\WINDOWS\I386

19/08/2004 14.00 53.234 HAL.DL_

if you didn't anything your computer, your hhd has three part, one of them is recovery part as you can see in disk management, when you press f10 you have to see recovery screen, maybe your model has different key shortcut,so you can try with f keys.(i did it and worked)

set your bios setting boot up with bootable windows CD

and then go to repair setting ... then repair your windows

or you can try with recovery Console ...

easy !:smileypeace:

Don't panic, you can just press F10 at bootup and restore the whole thing from the partition

Maybe I forgot to tell that I don't have the 3rd partition any more, but I will try to copy the Hall.dll to the dvd and see if that works.
