Screen on my new VAIO VGN-FE41M is too blue

Hi,

I bought a new VAIO VGN-FE41M notebook on Friday, with Windows Vista Home Premium pre installed.

I'm very disappointed about the screen. It's just not very bright and clear as what I'm used to on my old laptop. Everything looks like it has too much blue or purple in it, and everything looks a bit washed out. My Firefox toolbars for instance are normally light grey, but on my VAIO they are light blue. Text is a bit blurry and gives me a headache.

It's the same when I attach my external LCD monitor (Acer AL2017) to it. In fact, on the monitor the screen looks even worse. Text has a sort of light glow around it that makes it very hard to read. I installed the latest monitor driver, but that didn't help.

The graphics card is a NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400 GPU. Windows tells me the drivers are up-to-date.

Has anyone experienced this before?
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Arthur

Cleartype is enabled on the laptop. Try to switch it off
