Second RAM-slot?

Hi boys & girls!

Yesterday I bought 2 new DDR333 512 MB of RAM to enhance my VAIO experience. But, my problem is that I can only find one of the memory slots?!

Then I heard from someone that the second slot is under the keybord? But I can't lift it because it's stuck! I've found the 3 "locks" and unlocked them, but still there is something holding it....

Can someone please explain what I might do wrong, and how do I solve this?

I've got a VAIO VGN-A197VP

Thanks

ciao

How did you get under the keybord? I've tried for like an hour now!!

ciao

The one under the keyboard is the slot u found empty.
Your vaio can have up to 1024 mb only, it's on Sony website.
1024 mb is really good man
it may harm your computer if you put more than 1024 RAM, take care my friend.

have a nice day :rose:

Wheres the other ram slot? I cant find that one

There is one under the keyboard behind a door ( a hatch )

I think there is only one under the keyboard, which is empty so that you can put extra RAM, the other slot is hidden inside the computer and it has the original RAM, it cannot be customised.

Ok thats good because it seems to be a bit slow, ive tried deleting unnessasy things but it doesn't do alot of good.

that's a great model man!

you have 512 MB of RAM, and u can add only another 512 MB in the slot under the keyboard one.
it will speed up your computer.
U cannot have more than 1024 mb RAM.
