Sony PCG-61511M, blank screen, no drive led activity, green light on

Hi Sony
I have been having a switch on hit/miss for some thime which I have tried to live with, namely blank screen, healty hard disk led activity, and I have got around by
setting to hybinate insted of switch off which worked great most times.
But Monday 3rd switched on as usual and left it few minutes, Came back and found black screen,I noted no hard disk activity, and green swith on illuminated.
Had to hard switch a few times with the same result, I have two spare hard disks fully working, one with windows 10 and another windows 7, I swaped these with the same result.
Does this point hope? to castrostropic hardware problem, or is there a glimmer of hope?

Sorry I can see spelling mistakes in original post, but can no find how to edit it.

I also forgot to mention that usually with healty

system I get the sound of hard disk activity, closely followed by increased volume of fan cooling before it stabilizes

But now I get about two sounds of disk movement, no increase or fan volume.

I hope this helps in the understanding of the problem.

Hi newmee

Since you get nothing on the screen and the hard drive doesn't seem to be spinning, I'd say the best thing to do would be to take it to a repair centre:

You can find your nearest using this link: https://locator.sony/en_GB/servicecenters
