Hi johno4779,

There is rarely a simple fix for this problem.

You could try cleaning the laser lens with a proprietary cleaner and also clean the Blueray disk. There is also an update for WinDVD BD available from the support site - worth installing assuming you have not done so already.

Hi johno4779 and welcome.

When did it last playBDs?  What version of WinDVD BD are you trying to use?  I think Version 8.8.0.282 is the latest for your model - have you got this version installed.  It needs updating regularly to keep up to date with the latest encryption.

Is it a recent release of BD you are trying to play?  Have you tried other discs?

Before replacing the drive, check it is not the software by downloading the free trial version of PowerDVD 12 and see if that works: -

or install a free DVD/BD Player like DAPlayer and try that.

If all of that fails, then think about replacing the drive.
