sony vaio pcg-282m

Good afternoon, i am told i need the Northbridge for the sony vaio pcg-282m.  i think it is called vgc123e.  would anybody know where i can purchase this from? or any other suitable chipset?

You probably need to find the correct name of your Vaio. It will be something like VGCLM1E or VGCLM2E if it is a European model. It is probably on a black sticker on the PC.

 

The VGCLM1E has an Intel T7250 processor and the VGCLM2E has the T8100 processor. The Northbridge is, as far as I know, the Intel PM965 chipset but this will depend on the exact model.

 

It is unusual to replace the chipset so could you give us as much information as you can about the problem.
