Sony Vaio Z Series - Flickering Screen

Hi all

I have recently bought a Vaion Z series VPCZ12M9E

On start up the screen flickers and I get half the screen with white lines down it for about a second, then everything is fine!

I have read that this may be due to the 2 graphicas cards that are in the laptop??

Is this normal or should I be sending it into Sony for a looking at?

Does it do this if you have 'STAMINA' mode selected before starting up?  In this case it does not need to switch video cards and the flicker should not happen.

Does the same thing happen if you hot switch from Stamina to Speed after Windows has loaded?

If you are worried then get in touch with Vaio Support for reassurance.

Thanks for the reply, tried starting in Stamina mode, and it does not do it.

Also when switching between modes when the PC is on does do it, it is like a quick flicker with the white lines , so with this in mind I assume it is normal?

I have a friend who has the same laptop so will ask him too if his does it.
