Sony VGN-A115S won't start-up

Hi,

I've had my notebook for a couple of years now and 99% of the time, it is plugged into the mains. One night last week, I was working on it without it on the mains, closed down and left it on the table still unplugged. I got up the next morning, went to switch it on and it is completely dead. I have tried both on the battery and plugged into the mains.

Can anyone advise what I should do?

Welcome to Club Vaio,

Try removing the battery and unplugging the AC adapter from your Vaio, then push and hold the Vaio power button at least for 60 seconds, then reconnect the power supply and turn your laptop on again..

Thank you Thalamus for your welcome and advice.

i have tried what you have suggested but unfortunately this doesn't work. There is the green light on the adapter, no lights happen on the notebook still. Would you have any other suggestions?
