Trouble booting my All in One SLV241B16M

My All in One has suddenly reused to boot up. I get the VAIO logo.

Usually it starts with “Preparing Automatic Repair”, then sometimes goes into “Diagnosing your PC” and sometimes hangs.

Other times it shows “Operating System not found” in the top left corner and whatever key you press, repeats the line below the first line.

I have tried searching but generally it says things like "press the assist button" or press Esc, 12, F8 all sorts with a bootable USB and I think I have tried them all without any joy. I do not seem to have an ASSIST button. Does anybody have any suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

Stan

Hi Stan,

This very much sounds like a defect hard drive.

You should try to save as much data as possible and exchange the HDD with a new one.

Cheers

Peter

Thanks for input Peter. If that is the case, I do have my important stuff backed up. I am not too techy when it comes to the hardware, but hopeully one of my friends will take a look at the drive or me.
