Trying to upgrade graphics card

Hi all, im trying to upgrade my pcv-rx301 onboard graphics card with a new pci card. Unfortunately i am unable to disable the onboard card through bios with this model. I can install the new card with no conflict but whenever i attach my monitor to the new card i just get a black screen. Any ideas as e-support were useless and gave me no help

1. deinstall the old graficsdriver (no reboot!)

2. deaktivate the onboardgraphicscard in the
system configuration->system->hardware->hardware manager
(but sorry I have a german winXP)

3. reboot the system (the computer was starting in VGA-mode)

4. activate the new graficscard(at the hardware manager)

5. intstall the driver from your new graphicscard

6. reboot the system

I think that must be function(sorry for my english)
