Tv on my Vaio

I have a Sony Vaio VGC-V2S desktop system ad this is capable of running and recording live TV, however my arial signal is crap and I can only recieve channels 1 to 4 and not very good at that. I have a freeview box and was wondering if I can connect this to my PC and tune it in that way. If this is possible what way do I connect it and do I need to identify it as an external video sorce, if this is the case what is the proceedure/ I am very keen to get this machine running to its full pottential and the user guide is a bit vague regarding this matter.

Any help with this issue would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Hmm the manual really is useless for the V2, was hoping to find what ports you have

I have a VGS-V3S and it has a video in RCA/phono and left and right inputs. I put the output from a set top box in here and then you select external input on the TV tuner. I'm not sure if your model has the same inputs, but if it does it should work, including doing timed recordings (as long as you have the set top box set to the right channel)

Because I liked the tvtv application for PVR recordings, I added a http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/pages/products/data_novatusb2.html which adds all the digi channels and syncs with http://www.tvtv.co.uk

I've had some blue screen issues with it when I try to do loads of stuff at once and a recording starts, but for £50 it is on the whole a good solution. Comes with a decent remote and free trial of tvtv.
