Vaio to Television

Hi Guys!

I have a real problem with my VGN-NS11J. If you don't know it comes with no sort of connector to my television, I have a Sony Bravia HD television and a Samsung HD television and I just don't know what kind of cable to purchase so I can use my television as a monitor.

If you could help this would be really appreciated, Thanks a lot.

Hi Callum and welcome to Club Vaio.

Your Sony TV (and possibly your Samsung) should have a PC Input (this is the 15-pin VGA input) in which case all you need is a monitor cable like these: -

Just check if you need male-to-male or male-to-female.

You have no other video output other than the VGA monitor socket so if you want to connect to a TV that does not have a VGA input the only other way is with a hardware converter to S-Video or Composite Video.

Something like this one: -

Your TVs should have both inputs but if not you can buy a Composite Video to Scart adapter.

However, I think you will find a standard monitor cable will do the trick.
