VGN-A417M - DVD Drive - Software

Hi,

I have a Vaio VGN-A417M and the dvd drive doesn't recognise cd's, i can't read or write cd's.

I have tried to download the update files, but i can't seem to download them ?

has anyone got the file they can email me, or tell me how i can access it ?

SOACTD-00805805-UN.exe is the file name

The file you mentioned is for the Click to DVD 2.4.12.14100 Upgrade, there is a firmware update available for Sony DW-D56A optical drive (SOFOPD-00829906-UN.exe)..:smileyconfused:

Tried downloading it again, but can't access the ftp site either ...

Hi Illusion,

Goto start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance >system

Then select the Hardware tab and click on Device Manager, click on the + next to DVD/CD-ROM Drives to display your make of drive..:smileyhappy:
