VGN-S2XP - Windows 2000 - Incompatible Drivers

Hello,

I installed a Windows 2000 Professional System with SP4 on my VGN-S2XP. Unfortunately it does not accept the drivers which are on the Sony-Drivers-Page. Anyway I was able to find the drivers for the ethernet and WLAN, but I am missing the exact names for the other devices (PCI Devices (2x), Unknown Device (2x), USB-Controller). Furthermore the Sony Notebook Setup does not work (nothing happens when I start it).

Maybe someone has a solution for my problem.

Bon, j'ai le même ordinateur que toi et j'avais les mêmes envie que toi : le faire tourner avec Win 2000.

J'avais réussi à trouver tous les drivers et le notebook fonctionnait parfaitement sous 2000.

A un détail près : le CPU fonctionnait à 0,6 Ghz au lieu des 1,8 prévus
Après quelques conseils récupérés ici, j'ai pu faire tourner le CPU à 1,8 Ghz mais alors plus de gestion de l'alimentation possible, donc 100% tout le temps et l'autonomie que devient ridicule

Donc j'ai abdiqué et je suis passé à contre coeur vers XP Pro (celui livré avec le noteboook).

Eh bien, j'avoue que c'est parfait. J'ai désactivé l'interface "Playmobile" de XP pour avoir celle plus classique. Désactivé la plus part des assistants et autres Security Center et je me retrouve avec un OS parfaitement stable, quasi identique à 2000 avec en plus mon notebook qui fonctionne parfaitement et qui à une autonomie top.

Bref j'étais fondamentalement anti XP... je suis devenu pro XP

I managed to install most of the drivers. There is still one pci-device and two unknown devices left, but I think I will get them My CPU works at 1.8GHz, so everything is fine with that.

Nevertheless I have a problem with the sony utilities. My hotkey FN+F2 to F7 and FN+F12 do not work and the sony notebook setup does not start. Has anyone an idea about that?
