vgn s4m dvd reader

hi just wanted to know if my s4m can play region 1 dvds from america and be fully watchable
any help would be cool

Hi oopdoo3 and welcome to Club Vaio.

All drives in PCs are region locked these days. You can change the Region BUT USUALLY ONLY 4 TIMES BEFORE THE DRIVE BECOMES LOCKED.

You can change the region by right-clicking on the drive in My Computer -> Properties -> Hardware -> Select your Drive from the list -> Properties -> DVD Region

You probably have a Matshita OEM Drive in your S4 - so you cannot use any of the multitude of solutions offered by Google.

The best advice I can give is to get a cheap external drive which can be set to Region 1.
