Viewing DVD on mulitple screens

Hello all,

I've got a VGN A417S and was wondering if it were possible to view a DVD movie on the laptop screen and a monitor attached to the docking station simultaneously!

When I try this now, the DVD movie screen is blanked out on either the laptop or monitor – the rest of the desktop however is visible on both displays. I can't find the settings to enable viewing on both simultaneously. Can anyone assist?

The DVD will be displayed on an overlay which can only be seen on one monitor at a time. It is possible in most cases to reduce the hardware acceleration in display properties or the DVD player configuration to disable the overlay and allow the DVD to be viewed on multiple monitors.

It's a good idea to reset the hardware acceleration after viewing this way as you will suffer a performance hit if you leave it disabled..
