warranty issue

Hi all

Own a VGN-a517s and wish to upgrade my memory to 2 Gb
Will my warranty be invalidated by installing third party memory such as crucial ???

Not sure - but Sony will not know if you replace the Sony Memory (which is usually Samsung and massively overpriced) if you ever have to return it for a warranty repair!!

Highly recommend Crucial.

This is open for debate but if you ever need to return you PC for any reason just retain and reinstate the original chips.

I think no it won't be invalidated as they show you how to do it in the manual.
