Wireles cannot see the network

Hi!

I have VGN FS195VP notebook.
I have installed Netgear router.
I have broadband internet.
My LAN contact with the cable through the router works well, but wireless network doesn't.
Simply, when I refresh to see availible networks I don't see any.
Netgear is working properly and wireless light is green-ON.
On my computer wireless is enabled and switched on.
I use: obtain IP adress automatically.
Why I don't see any network?
Here around should be several networks availible but don't see any.
I HAVE TRIED TO FIND SOLUTION WITH SEARCH THE FORUMS but not succes.

Help!

Hi euripyd,

In you Netgear Router management, under wireless settings, turn on Allow Broadcast of Name (SSiD) then click apply..

Then refresh to see available networks, is your network visible now..?

If you try the solution pointed by Thalamus you will be able to solve the problem. But keep in mind to use an encrypted password to access or else all your neighbours will be able to use it also...
