Won't start in Safe Mode

Hi,

I have a VGC-V2M and when I want to boot in Safe Mode at start-up I press F8 repetedly, and it gives me 2 options (Pioneer I think and something else - I'm not where I'm in a situation where I can check), neither boot as safe mode.

I know there are other ways to do it, but I was just wondering why this doesn't work?

Just wondering.
Thanks for any help.

Hi,

I have this problem occasionally and have put it down to the wireless keyboard (which is connected by USB) taking too long to be recognised.

Keep pressing F8 after that first screen - or just be persistent!

It's not that, it is recognised because when I press F8 it brings up 2 options and neither boot into safe mode...? Thanks.

Any suggestions?

Btw, the new design is a nice change.

On my Vaio VGC-V3S, the safe mode option is activated by pressing F2 or F5 on start up rather than F8 (which actually gives you the option to select whether to boot from the CD or Harddrive)

This may be the case on the V2M as well?

Sorry about the delay, I'll check when I get back later. Cheers.

It was F5, thanks.
