XP installation CD?

I have bought a Sony Vaio FE11S. What do I need to do when my notebook asks to place the Win WP cd?

No, I first wanted your advice on this.:smileywink:

The following is my boot.ini:

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Windows XP Media Center Edition"/fastdetect/NoExecute=OptOut

So... can changing my NoExecute=OptOut in No Execute=alwaysoff help for solving the explorer.exe error?:smileyconfused:

Have you tried using system restore to restore to a point before the errors occured?

Start > All programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore.

I only have this computer 4 weeks so I did one 2 weeks back but it still occured.
What's the difference between recovery and restore?
I assume restore is quicker and your files are still available?
If I recover will my D partition also be erased?

You can choose to restore your C drive to factury settings (= new), you can also select to set C & D drive to factury settings, but you don't need to do that.

Restoring your computer does not affect or change your personal data files.
Recovery uses the VAIO Recovery Utility

Yes

Not if you only select C: drive recover (recommended)

Restoring your computer does not affect or change your personal data files.

Does this mean my installed programs and favorites will still be there?
I will have to ga 4 weeks back to be sure.
