How do I connect a Sony BT3900U to a Renault Scenic (2004) with steering wheel control?

I would like to install a Sony BT3900U to my Renault Scenic 2004 with steering wheel control and display of the radio station on the car display.

On the Sony website it is suggested that it is possible to use a steering wheel control, but there is no description or any accessory listed needed for this. Can I just remove the Renault car radio and replace it by the Sony BT3900U? Or do I need special interface cables? Can you please help me out?

Hello Renault-user,

The type of accessory you would need is made by third party companies - but I think you should be able to get your Sony unit working in a Renault.  Usually you need two leads - a patch lead that is specific to the make of your stereo i.e. Sony of course, and then a second lead that is specific to you car.

I've used leads from this company before: Connects2 (see links) and found them to be very good.  I'm not sure about whether you can also get the Renault display to work as well with a Sony stereo, but in any case I'd probably recommend e-mailing or ringing one of these lead-manufacturing companies to ensure compatibility before spending your money.
