MDR-XB50BS Buttons fell out! Manufacturing Defect! Headphones otherwise fine...

Hi Everyone,

My Sony XB50BS headphones lost the power button soon after I bought it, just dropped out! no bad use or anything.

I did some research and found out it seems to be a really common issue on this product so is likely a manufacturing defect. See - https://us.community.sony.com/s/question/0D50B00004IKwBzSAL/mdrxb50bs-dropped-the-onoff-button-and-v...

I carried out being able to use the headphones as I could squeeze my finger in to turn the device on and off.

Now the volume up/down buttons also fell out!

As the products quite old now I doubt there's any kind of warrenty support, but I'd always thought that all i really need is the buttons replaced, can snap new ones right it.

Can Sony share the CAD model for the buttons, as its something that can be easily 3d printed.

I hate to see otherwise good tech to go to waste. Works fine otherwise.

I doubt Sony would ever do that (even for something seemingly irrelevant as a button). That said, there's a chance someone made a replica/"scan" of it online.

Or you could also reach out to Sony engineers if they have spare buttons or if they do actually provide a CAD for them.

Hope this helps!
