Music Centre Taking a long time to load and unable to transfer content to it from i-Tunes

Recently opening Music Centre has taken 15 minutes or more to display music content.  Also I cannot transfer i-Tunes music and podcasts to play on my Walkman AW-N45,  which has not been a problem before. The error code 24667 is displayed against each track.

Looking at the internet it appears to be a difficulty others are having too and there seems there might be incompatibility between recent Windows 10 updates and the most recent Sony update 2.4.0.0.

Is there any solution on the way?

I haven't seen this issue before, have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling it?

Thanks for your reply.

I haven't tried uninstalling and re-installing but I see that some subscribers to this site have but without success.

Additionally, I'm reluctant to uninstall as it has taken months to put various bits of artwork etc (which Music Centre wasn't displaying) within the 'Properties' section for each album and I worry that these will be lost if I uninstall and start again.

Do you happen to have another PC/laptop you could test on instead?

It's impractical of course, but I've seen others mentioning issues with permissions and such, so reinstalling or trying a different one would be the easiest thing to begin with.

Thanks, I only have one pc running Windows 10 Pro.

But an interesting development.  I mentioned Music Centre has been taking a long time to load data under the Artist heading of the main page.  I left the application running all night and today everything is there and I've been able to transfer some podcasts from iTunes into my Walkman.  So MC now seems to be working again although rather slower than usual.   On the downside, MC seems to have reloaded the entire content of music/ podcasts already on it and the Walkman and the result is that every song (track) in MC has been duplicated and in some cases tripled or quadrupled.

It seems that if I invoke the 'Transfer to Device' command I'm likely to get this duplication etc on my Walkman- both inconvenient and likely to exceed the capacity of the SD card.

Any suggestions please?

The only 2 suggestions I have are;

- Using the "permissions" tool and claiming ownership of the Music Centre app files before trying to duplicate as I've seen this solve issues before.

- Uninstalling and reinstalling the app entirely.

Hope this helps!
