Wh-1000 xm4 switching off

While playing some tunes from tidal over Bluetooth, the headphones switched off, I've updated the headphones to latest firmware, anyone else had this issue

Hi dave,

Did you fully charge the headphones?

Does it happen also with other apps?

Cheers

Hello Peter, It had a full charge, due to getting it that day and updated the firmware to the latest version , not had time to fully test it, work commitments and kids lol so will give it a proper test this weekend , just wondering if this was a one off or is it a known issue

Hi Dave,

We're not aware of such issue currently - so it might be a one off 🤞.

Cheers

Hello Peter, noticed a few more bugs I think, whilst lisening to tidal I decided to make a cupa, so was up moving around my kitchen, my headphones ambience sound kept on switching with a audible sound, very frustrating, then before when I was rocking my son asleep, whilst lisening to YouTube, it would randomly pause, ive own the previous 2 models and not had any issues at all, is my headphones faulty, thanks

If you were leaning during that time, pausing is normal since the headset uses sensors to tell if you took them off or not, and as you can imagine the difference between standing and leaning is not nothing and may have been picked up as a "false positive".

The previous models didn't have this feature, so I'd say your headphones are safe.

Maybe try turning off ambient mode altogether when you're home and then enable it when you're outside or at work for example.

Hello, thanks for your response, but this is so frustrating, just in the middle of doing a spot of cleaning so bit of movement and whilst playing Spotify, the music is randomly pausing, not all the time, I thought it may of been due to notifications, so I put my phone on, do not disturb but still randomly pausing, so you saying this is due to me not keeping still?  If this is the case, then these headphones are not fit for purpose

Jeez you're getting the brush off here, sorry mate.

Same, my Sony XM4 seem to have a couple of similar things:

  • random power off after 10 or 20 or whatever minutes, connected to laptop over bluetooth.  Fully charged.  No answers.  Gotta be a bug.
  • reasonably sensitive to me speaking while wearing, which cancels noise cancelling briefly, and pauses the music.  Can turn that feature off in the Sony Headphones app.

Cheers, good luck!

This happens to me randomly

Hey scott.gaskell, do you have the same issue as in powering off randomly? Or which issue? Does it happen on certain apps?
