WH1000 XM4

Recently acquired noise cancelling headphones. There was a definite sound bias to right hand earpiece. Returned unit and replaced headphones via a different supplier.

Having same problem.

Sony say there is no facility to alter balance

Has anyone experienced similar issue?

The device you have the headphones connected to and play your music from.

That answered my question.

for iPhones you can adjust the stereo balance: https://support.apple.com/guide/iphone/audio-visual-iph3e2e2cdc/ios

I assume you altered that setting in the past by mistake.

Can you please check that?

Hello @Jamesanwell,

unfortunately you make no mention of the playback device you are using - yet from your description it sounds to me like the pan (balance between left and right channel) is shifted on the playback device (software or hardware wise) as it occurs with two individual sets of headphones.

Kindly let us know what device you are playing music from.

Hi Nic,

Not sure what you mean by playback device.  I’m using my new earphones with an iPhone 11, listening to music either downloaded and saved or via Spotify or other similar streaming platform.

thanks for your help

Hello @Jamesanwell,

you're very welcome.

I have heard about the setting causing the described issue on reddit before, so it was my first guess after you mentioned the iPhone
