Miracast (aka screen mirroring) support for Sony Vaio notebook

Hi everybody.

Last week I bought a Sony Bravia 42 inches tv (KDL-42W653A) that supports Miracast (screen mirroring).

This means you can connect your table/phone or pc that supports Miracast to the tv wirelessly.

Now, I have a Sony Notebook SVT1511C5E bought in april with Windows 8 pre-installed. I successfully upgraded it to Windows 8.1 when it was realased. Seems like with Windows 8.1 they introduced support for Miracast.

So I tried following the instructions I found online, like this ones:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows-8/project-wireless-screen-miracast

http://blogs.windows.com/windows/b/windowsexperience/archive/2013/11/12/windows-8-1-on-your-big-scre...

The problem is that when I go to Project, there is no "Add a wireless display" option. I suppose (but not sure) this is not appearing because of some driver still not updated to support this feature.

As far as I understand the 3rd generation i-core processor from intel with latest drivers should support it.

This is an extract ffrom Intel website: "What is needed for Miracast to work?"

(see: http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-034563.htm)

So I downloaded the latest drivers from Intel website and installed it but no luck. The only problem now should be with the Atheros AR9485wb-eg wireless network driver. I checked on the vaio update and the driver are upto date.

Does somebody have tried to make it work?

Let me know if you have any info or update about this.

Thanks
