Does anyone have this - SGP-UC3 USB Host Adapter Cable for Xperia™ Tablet S

Hi everyone,

Does anyone have the SGP-UC3 USB Host Adapter Cable for Xperia™ Tablet S?

I know it will allow the connection of cameras, flash drives and maybe other usb devices.

I tried with a USB hard drive but I guess the drive needs too much power to work!

Does anyone know if 64gb and 128gb flash drives work with this cable and the Xperia S Tablet?

I am also wondering what other USB devices Xperia Tablet Owners have used?

Thanks!

Ofiaich

Hiya,

I have one - used it with a 64gig flash drive with no prob.

My hard drive works too ( mains powered).

Can you try your hard drive with a different cable? That could be the problem. My old pc came up with the same warning. Turned out that my usb cable was dodgy.

thanks Jason,

I will try some other cabbles but both of my portable hard drives would not work.

I do have a Wi-Fi drive   and of course, that works a treat without any cables. A bit too much to carry about sometimes.

I might buy a 128 gb flash drive to use.

Thanks again!

Hi Jason,

I got a power adaptor and 2 of my drives works. One is 140 Gb and the other 1 Tb.

I guess the 3rd one does not because it is formatted to work with a MacBook pro.

I also got a 64gb flash drive and that is working fine!

Thanks again for your advice!

I was having the same problem with some 2.5" drives. I have bought a powered USB hub from eBay to try but I am still waiting on my tablet being returned from its repair but will let you know if I have any luck.

A £5 powered hub will be cheaper than a 128GB pen drive!

Hi!

I agree cheaper to buy a powered hub but I am not always near a power supply!   64gb pen drive is working well and my  Wi-Fi drive is too!

Hope your tablets gets returned soon!!
