i just bought this TV last week and it has Android TV v5.1.1

it says there are no updates available.

someone else who has a KD43X8305BU says there's is running Andoird TV v6.x

are these different models?

mine has a C in the model number, his doesn't.

Hi,

there is only one X83C serie, 2015 (with final "C"), from 2016 start XD83 serie and this has received Android 6.0, at this moment X83C is without an update to the newer SO Marshmallow...

5.1.1 is 2 anroid versions behind.

even my nexus player (android TV) had android v7.x

Nexus is a Google Device, like smartphones it has the update immediately from Google.
I don't have a news from Marshmallow on 2015 series but it arrives... Nougat maybe in a future...

actually, i have just realised that what i have been given is a KD43X8309C, and not a KD43X8305C.

can you anyone advise what the difference is between 8305 and 8309?

Motionflow on X8305C is XR 800Hz, X8309C has Motionflow XR 1000Hz.

so the X8309C is a better model?

reason i'm asking is that the TV i bought was advertised as a X8305C, but what i was actually given was a X8309C.

if there are technical differences between the two then i will be looking to return it due to be wrongly advertised/mis-selling.

what is the current 2016 equivalent model?

When used, but depends of contents, Motionflow XR 1000Hz is better than Motionflow XR 800Hz, you can keep this model... -)

Equivalent 2016 model... XD83 or XD85 (between these series I think XD85...).

if 8305 better than 8088? and is 8088 better than 8077?

what does the BU and SU denote? one would get that BU is black and SU is silver?

Are you sure for XD8305-77-88 and not XD8005-77-88-99 or XD8505-77-99?

For the differences between XD80 HERE, for XD85 HERE.

So sorry, my fault... You have wrote correctly: KD43XD8305BU, KD43XD8088BU, KD43XD8077SU.
I have confused XD8077 and XD8088 with XD8377 and XD8388, these (last two) don't exist...

I'm hungry... -)
