How reliable is it ? Who changes the Display mode manualy?

My new Bravia is about to come and i have read that the Auto setting isnt accurate.

I dont use the Auto Display mode feature (or rarely - but do so manually). When your new TV arrives, give this a test out and would be interested to know of your results on whether is functions the way it should?

Interested to read this thread, I tried setting auto up a few days ago while watching a classic fools and horses but nothing I did would make it work.
