When using bravia sync, there is a lag when changing volume. If I use the native controller for my Pioneer VSX-1131 this does not occur. This is most prevailant when I hold the volume button down.

Can anyone test and confirm?

This did not happen with 5.0, so something seems to have happened with the update. Full factory reset has been performed.

Hi both

Using a Sony STR-DH720 AV Receiver connected to KD-55XD8577 via HDMI-ARC. Watching Freeview - if there is any lag/delay for me, its barely detectable.... So for me, its fine.

Cheers

Hi GreyTalon, so just to make sure I get it right, you have two issues, that the volume level doesn't match between the TV and the Yamaha when you change it, there's a difference of 1 or 1.5. The other issue is when you change the volume with the TV remote (or anything else from the TV) it reverts back to the old number? If it's not please clarify more. Also, try to unplug the TV from the mains, disconnect all the external devices, leave it for few minutes, then plug it back in and try again.

There's a new software version that has been released recently too, make sure that you have it on your TV using the instructions in the following link: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/lcd-tvs-android-xh80xx_x80xxh_x81xh-series/kd-85xh8096/downloads/00017127

Hi HannahEd, almost clarify ) -

prblm#1: - exactly!

i think that lags goes from diff. betw yamaha' volume scale (it is from "0" to "97" and has step by "0,5") and SONY' scale (its from "0" to "100" and step is "1") .... - and it looks like SONY is spending a lot of time for trying to equal .... - slow response is happends ... and i realy do the most hardely pressing on volume key on RC for changing volume (thats sure is psyeffect :))....

prblm#2: almost...

when i change volume let's say in google home chromecast TV control *****:.... - we can smooth change volume by smooth sliding finger on circle... - or just put finger on any point of volumecircle to SET volume - and volume should changed quickly to that point ) ....
or eg if i say to Assistent: "okigoo... set tv volume to 30" (while it current 40)... - it do norm react and volume will changed to 30 but immediately chnge again but not to back... - to 39... - mean it can't change volume to "SETed".... it only change to "ONE STEP".....
- and i have to do by finger is not one slide but about ten slidings repeats to make it quieter... - and on each repeats - volume on TV is show next:
to the 30 and back to 38
and again 30 and back but to 37
and again is 30 and back to 37... again... (bcs on YAMAHA its set to "37,5" after "38" )
and again 30 and back to 35 ...

ps: and of couse i have latest firmware on TV and of couse i tried to many diff. ways with diff. settings on each devices ... and connections .... and i tried put sound from TV over SPDIF (same behavior as a result)... - and my hdmi cables is good - beacose i have good stable "4k60p" picture on TV from my HTPC connected to NVIDIA 1060....

(and last my observation: when we disable ARC in yamaha setup - it all starts working fine!!! ...
eeeeh... - more precisely, it looks worked fine - because with "ARC turned off" - we have no sound ....
- but "LAG" is gone!
- and we can SET exact volume on remote - and it do "30" from "40" by ONE STEP.... - and it all we can see! - but not heard

(maybe it to hard understand how i try to explain that.... sorry ... - but i can make a short video to youtube if thats help ?! )
