KD-55X8005C Marshmallow issues

Hi all, I have a KD-55X8005C and it's telling me marshmallow is available to update. I try to update through the TV via internet and it says my TV doesn't need updating it's up to date. I try the USB approach, put the .pkg on a blank USB, plug into tv and nothing happens (just asks me if I want to open the video or picture app).

Software version currently: pkg3.533.0108EUB

anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Hi there

I am unsure if you have managed to update your TV - however if you havnt, unfortunately Sony has put a temporary hold on further rolling out the Marshmallow update, see:
