Hello all

As you may be aware, there was some issues yesterday with Netflux after the firmware update. See official article HERE. There are two issues at hand:

Netflix failing to load up

People with BT HomeHub 5 (maybe other versions too)

Netflix not loading

For many, Netflix was fine, however for others it failed to even load up. This should have 'auto-recovered' itself sometime last night. If it hasnt, can you please try the following:

Turn the TV off and back on again

Press the [HOME] button on the remote control and goto Settings > Apps

Find and select 'Netflix' under the Running Apps section

In the menu at the side, select 'Force Stop' then 'Ok'

Select 'Clear Data' then 'Ok'

Select 'Clear Cache' then 'Ok'

Go back to the Home screen again by pressing the [HOME] button on the remote control.

Turn TV off and on again

Load up Netflix

BT HomeHub

For those experiencing issues and have a BT HomeHub - at the moment you will need to disable 'Parental Controls' and 'BT Protect' in your BT account settings. See support article HERE

Cheers

Hi,
Netflix won't load, I get Error Codeui-800-3, the more details screen confirms the Internet is connected, the network check shows Netflix server 1 is ok,server two and three give error code nw-2-5. I have rebooted the TV a dozen times, tried the fixes on the forum no good. Netflix works fine through my Xbox, I am annoyed and perplexed.

Hi there

Sony has just released a support doc, they are now advising in disabling BT Protect too:

https://sony-eur-eu-en-web--eur.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/131513/kw/

A concern i have is that they are advising a factory reset of the router too if it doesnt resolve it.

But if you've only just turned parental controls and the bt protect, might be best to wait a few hours as suggested.

Cheers

I have the same issue, I have tried resetting router (BT Home Hub 5) and also restarted TV many times.

I have now disabled BT Protect / Family Protection but still no joy.

Any other ideas?

There was a suggestion to factory reset the TV, but I cannot find the option. All I see is 'Initial Setup' - is this the same ?

TV model: KDL-43W807C

I have the latest firmware, although the issue started before I applied it.

I don't understand why Sony focuses issue on BT routers.

Or.. do a factory reset:smileyalert:

I have a BT home hub, the problem was with the BT protect feature, it was preventing the connection to Netflix, turning it off solved the problem.

Turning off BT protect did it for me, I had also gone into settings-running apps-Netflix-force stop and cleared the cache and data.

The following things have not worked:

- turning off BT Protect / Family Protection

- installing netflix-for-ninja.apk on /System/apps/

- resetting and clearing cache for Netflix app (although I have not tried that since installing the ninja version)

I will try next: doing a Factory Reset (now that I have the procedure - thanks!)

I am a bit wary about using a very different version of the netflix app downloaded from a mirror and side-loading onto the TV. I am hoping that BT / Sony / Netflix can sort this out without introducing any additional hack.

Thanks for the suggestions.
