KD-49XE8396 Bluetooth Problems

Please help; trying to connect bluetooth speakers to the tv. Followed the instructions but the tv won't see any bluetooth devices. Its trying, but never see's anything. I have even bought sony blue tooth speakers spcifically but to no avail.

What can we be doing wrong ???

Sony disabled A2DP on lower-end models. It is only available from XE85 onwards. Some people found a way around it, see here or here.
