Hi All,

I purchased some Skullcandy hesh 2 wireless headphones yesterday, all excited to try these out

on my Sony TV Model - KD-49X8309C

But for some reason it's just not connecting to my tv when I set bluetooth up to search, I have my HTC phone and playstaion pads connected to the TV. I did do a quick search to find that someone had mentioned that Sony TV's don't support bluetooth headphones???

Please tell me this isn't true ? and that something simple as connecting a pair of headphones is possible. If not is there a update coming soon ?? or do I have to spend more money on something to help make it work or is there something in the settings I can change? I also have the soundbar which came with it but can't connect it to that either but unsure if I can tbh.

Hi there

Sony TVs do not have the A2DP bluetooth profile that is needed in order for bluetooth headphones/speakers to work. This has been raised with Sony, but unfortunately a resolution for this is not possible with the current generation of TVs.

Fortunately there is a work-around - you can purchase a bluetooth transmitter that attaches to the TVs headphone socket.

In regards to the soundbar, it will need to be connected to the TV via the HDMI-ARC port or an optical cable.

Thanks for the quick response, pretty disapointing to be honest. Especially something so basic and simple.

The sound bar is connected to the tv with the leads supplied. I'm not really a big techy guy tbh. I'd lie to be! LOL

which attachment would you recommend? Imnot worried about price just want the best quality one.

Hi there

In regards to the bluetooth transmitter - I cant recommend any, as I have never personally used one before. However, I do know that THIS ONE works, as another forum member confirmed so. Have a read of this thread:

When connecting the Soundbar to the TV - do not connect both optical and HDMI at the same time. HDMI should be used it available.

Thanks. Does the USB port on the Sony KDL-42W705B TV continue to charge when the TV is in standby?

Or will the transmitter device not be charging when the TV is in standby?

I have sony KD-55x700D and bought ankar soundcore vortex head fone. I am also unable to connect my head fone to sony tv. I have connect my gamming joystick with tc.

really sick of sony system as the BT info says....

I've tried the app. It puts the headphones on the list of available devices. It pairs with them but can't connect. So, no sound. At least for me.

You can install free Bluetooth scanner from Google Play. Worked for me.
