Media sreaming not working

Model number kd49xf8096
Streaming not working.
Using Album App pre installed.
Oreo update not yet installed.
Tried reboot.

Can stream from two Windows laptops to 32 inch Sony tv. Model Kd 32wd752

Servers both Windows media player.
Can also stream between laptops so no network problems.

So problem not setup of servers.

Android TV Album app. finds two laptops as servers identified as Windows media player.
Can find folders on these devices BUT

Gives error message when selecting a folder,
" selected server contains no media content . Please select another server "

Is there a bug? Sure looks like it!!

Maybe you have to use the App "Video"?

Thank you for the suggestion. I tried App video. That streams video but not music. I wanted to stream music. So I tried App MUSIC.

HOORAY!

SO: I conclude that

I NEED TO USE A DIFFERENT APP for each media type.

Even though all of them present all options.

ALBUM FOR PHOTOS

VIDEO FOR VIDEO

MUSIC FOR MUSIC

My old 32 inch Sony is MUCH EASIER to use .I just go to media. Maybe Sony Android should have one app. For all media. Current app. setup is very clumsy/clunky.No?

Those are the pre-installed Apps, try using others like VLC or Nova Player.

Installed VLC. That's more like it!
