New tv set up

Got a new Sony smart TV and am having difficulty finding and installing apps on the set.

There are only a very few apps installed and help videos on you tube show a lot more sub menus for apps and available apps. I have signed into my Google account on the TV set.

Can anyone advise on what I've done wrong

Could you start by letting us know what TV model you have?

If its an Android TV (this forum covers Android models) what app are you looking for exactly? Unfortunately Android TV has a very limited sub-set of the Android apps available as they have to be compatible with the TV version of Android.

It won't run all the apps an Android phone does, although there are ways to mirror the phone to the TV if thats something you wanted to do.

If you open Google Play store on the TV, this will show you whats available on the TV.

I wanted to install apps similar to apps on another smart device for TV viewing.

For Android TV. Most Apps can be found by searching in a browser NAME.apk I have found any app I want.

filelinked.com is another option for Android apk's
