Hi Sean

I have gone through the settings menu to check - and the software is up to date. I know there is a new update being rolled out from 19 December with apple play etc on, but we've not had it as yet.

Thanks

Jayne

At 01:09 am every morning, when watching a freeview channel, the screen freezes and then goes blank. Its as if FreeView has gone to sleep. This has happened since our purchase in October 2018. As its an unsocial hour its not too much a problem, but it is bugging me why this happens. I have searched for a time setting but to no avail. The TV works with netflix - so it isn't switching off or going to sleep.

Can anyone help resolve this please?

Hi Jay,

Is the antenna connected directly to the TV or do you have a set top box connected via HDMI? If there's a box in your setup, the TV going to sleep could be due to something in its settings.

If you don't have a set box, tell us more about your setup (connected devices, connection method, etc)

Win_88

Hi Win_88

Thank you for this question - I do a have BTTV box - so started to explore its settings, and guess what it was programmed to go to a deep sleep at 1am. So, having changed that to test it - it is the cause of the the FreeView being affected.

Is there any setting in the Sony TV to ensure it ignores a lost signal due to the box going to sleep? I have changed the hours to more unsocial - between 4am and 5am, as there's not a "never" setting.

Best wishes

Jayne
