Anyone able to get Britbox on Sony Bravia (KD-55AG)
if not what say you Sony?

If britbox doesn't offer an app for Android TV you won't be able to watch it on your TV.

You might want to contact britbox and ask them if they have any plans to release such app in future.

There is definitely a Britbox app for Android TV - my KD48A9 has a Britbox app pre-installed, and is of course Android.

I’d be grateful for your help here. Ive got latest software on tv but cant find britbox app. searched all apps , tried voice recognition. Did you just chance upon it when going through the apps?

In my case it was pre-installed when I got the TV new. I don't see it in the Play Store on the TV. However this link confirms it is available for Andoid 5 and above:-

Appreciate your response. Even with our link and google play on handset still cant find the app. Maybe it can only be cast to tv, which I’ve not tried.

Sony aren’t doing themselves any favours here.

I am wondering if there is some special requirement for the BritBox app - I don't see it in the playstore on my TV, even though it's installed on the TV by default.

There is a Britbox help address on the app page link I shared. Suggest emailing them to ask if they can help. Also suggest a support request to Sony.

I had britbox as an app on my Sony bravia oled android TV....

Then I did a factory reset, and boy do I regret it

Britbox is gone and no way to get it back

So I can only conclude sony could make the app available but are withholding it

My wife is blind and this means we cannot access audio description, since it will not cast.

So come on sony bring back the app

Hey,

From what I can see it's a Youview app, and since Youview is supported on these TVs, then it should work.

You can try to find it in ''Live TV&Catch up'' if it's not listed in the play-store.

Thanks! That explains it and has allowed me to recover the app, for what it's worth.

I had been hoping to see the new audio described feature of the android app, but its sadly lacking.

BTW I have to disable youview to have an accessible tv guide for my wife,,no thats why they disappeared I suppose.
