BUG: Sony kd49xg839 6bu resets itself then suffers from screen lag

So we've had this TV for about a year now and since day one it's reset itself/ refused to come on then booted up and introduced screen lag for about 30 minutes.
The resets happen once maybe every couple of months, quite infrequently and I've tried all sorts to remove the lag: manual resets, different hdmi ports, every combo of display setting imaginable

It just happened again and solved itself 30 minutes later.
Any idea whats going on here? Software is kept up to date and the lag effects onboard menus as well as any game consoles I have connected to it.

Try clearing the cached data on your TV (under Device Preferences - Storage - Internal Shared Storage - Cached data) then restart it by holding the power button.

Make sure you're on the latest software version since the latest one changes the settings layout.
