Setting Location on ITV Hub

Every time I put my postcode in to set my location for ITV hub it refuses to save it. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I also am having this problem. It keeps asking me to enter my post code, and then keeps going round in a loop saying it cannot identify my location.

I updated my 55AF9 yesterday and tried using YouView app for the ITV player and had this problem. The BBC player seems to work but at a much reduced volume (almost muted). I have always had issues with YouView on Sony TV's and gave up using YouView, preferring to cast from a mobile device. Would seem that this is still the only way to watch ITV player on a Sony android.

I’m having the same problem, I set the postcode & it says it’s recognised but when I go onto itvhub it says I’m not recognised - in getting really frustrated with it.

I’ve had this issue to. I was trying to set the postcode in itv hub from the Sony Select list of apps. ITV hub wasn’t showing up in the youview list of apps. I did a full retune of my TV and the app reappeared in the youview apps list. This works perfectly and no need to enter postcode.

What model of TV are you all using? Is it updated to the latest version? Have you tried the basic unplugging, restarting, etc.?

This is the only way I can watch ITV Hub too. Very frustrating. And before anyone asks, yes, my Bravia is up to date. Yes, I've refreshed the Apps.

From what I can glean, the old requirement that you tune your terrestrial channels in before you can get the ITV Hub or All4 has been expanded by the alternative method of just giving a postcode to these apps instead.

It looks like All4 has got this right, as no-one is complaining about this on that Player, but ITV have got it wrong on their Player, so only the old ‘tune the channel’ method works.

Apparently, YouView are leaning on ITV to fix this; so the postcode check should start being enough from some unspecified date in the future when a suitably revised ITV Player is released.

I also have this problem. Does anyone have an answer as to why I can get Innocent series2 on itv hub on my phone but not on the itv hub on the new Sony tv that we have??

The earlier issues with setting a postcode for the itv Hub have now been fixed, so make sure your TV is on the latest release, downloading and installing it via a USB stick if you can’t get it over the air.

But when you say you can’t get Innocent Series 2, do you mean you can’t get anything, or just not this particular programme series?

And if the latter, are you in Scotland, or where, roughly, are you based?

Could you try the following below:
Press Home on your remote
Scroll down to 'Settings'
In the TV section scroll right to 'Apps'
Go to 'System Apps'
Hold the right button and scroll to end to 'YVServiceHostAPK'
Select 'Clear Cache' and press 'OK'
Then select 'Clear Data' and press 'OK'

Thank you @Alastair1972 that YVServiceHost clearing cache and data has just worked for me. This had frustrated me for weeks so finally came looking for a fix and it’s done the job. Cheers 👍🏻
