SONY Bravia KD-75XH8096 IR blaster

I want to control my cable box with my TV remote. MY TV has the functionality to automatically setup various brands of cable boxed but the box I have is not supported. Can I use an IR blaster with this TV to control the cable box? Also, does the cable box itself need to support this type of control? I really appreciate your help.

I tried checking the Startup Guide for the handy back panel illustration to check for the IR port they used to have on there, but I couldn't find one and the specs don't mention one included in the box either.

So not sure if that's possible with these new TVs.
