RS 232 Control

Hello All.

Can anyone tell me any detials of the serial control port on the KDL-65W855C. The connector is on 3.5 mm minijack on the back panel of the tv. I can't find any information on the pinout, protocol or commands in the manual or so far on the web. Has anyone used this port? I had intended controlling this TV from an Extron control system, serially, but am now doubting whether this is possible.

Can you please post a photo. Reason being - in all the documents I have, there is NO RS232C control ports.

Hello, thanks for the reply.

Sorry, I can't semd a picture right now as I'm not in the workshop. However, my mistake, the correct tv id should be Sony Bravia FWL65W855C. The serial port is located to the left of the hdmi inputs if that helps.

Hi there

The model number reflects Sonys Professional range. And yes, i can confirm it does have an RS232 control port - so no need for a photo.

However unfortunately i do not have access to the documents required.

This may sound silly, but arnt the pins the standardised on a 9 pin connector?
