Hi I have a Sony kd43xh8505bu tv and a Sony x8500 sound bar. When I start, or after pausing, a programme there is a slight few second delay in the sound coming through the sound bar and so I often have to rewind the programme to allow for this. Things like iPlayer for example start straight away so I always miss the first few seconds of the programme I am watching. I have the sound bar connected through hdmi earc to the tv. It’s not a sync issue as when it comes through it’s in sync with the picture. Does anyone have any tips to sort this out or will I have to live with it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for the reply but this can’t be the only solution. It happens when I pause a programme too, not just on start up. Why would it need to handshake when it’s already holding hands? It’s a pain because if I pause a programme then I have to rewind it so that I don’t miss any dialog.

I'd try a different cable or a different type of connection if possible just to test the TV. Also, make sure to update the firmware to the latest one v6.5042 using the link here:

https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/software/00258725.

I have the same issue. It even pauses between songs when playing a single album from start to finish so I miss the first few seconds of every song. I replaced my cables with the fastest I could buy and nothing changed. I contacted support and they said this is normal. So this product is basically complete garbage. Hopefully other people read this before buying it.
