Sony TVs lasted 30 years when you didn't even know Samsung. Ask yourself, did old Samsung have this latest technology and have so much of it? You know, what isn't there doesn't break ... Then two software problems in three years? One fixed right away ...

Is the TV up to date?

Have you ever thought about a factory reset?

Hi all I have a KD65XE7093 which I bought around 3 years ago. Maybe 18 months ago the control started to stop working outwith the power button, this appeared to be a common fault and thanks to this page I found turning it off at the wall for 10 seconds or so sorted this. Still got the same issue but now doesn't seem to be fixable and it now happens whenever I press an app button (Netflix or YouTube) they struggle loading up and then the controller goes. Very disappointed with this, my last TV was a Samsung and this lasted 10 years with no issues whatsoever. Anyone help?

Hi @Jamesbam

I cannot find a KD-65XE7093 but the closest I can find is a KD-65XE7096. Are you running the latest firmware update (see below but you will need the exact model number)?

Most Sony TVs bought from a good retailer come with a 5 year warranty, so if that is the case then your first port to call should be the Retailer.

Just as an aside, your TV may not be Android (this community) but supported under Other TVs.

Firmware update to v8.909 | Sony UK

I would recommend also to try factory reset, the route should be as the following: Home-settings-customer support- factory settings.
